Redskins' GM visits Richmond

by Matt Lincoln

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Bruce Allen admits he wasn't a great student when he started his four years at the University of Richmond. But by the time he graduated, he was well on his way to becoming an NFL executive.

The Redskins general manager visited his alma mater Friday night to speak to members of the UR family.  Allen wanted to express his gratitude for what his university had provided to him.

Of course, he also talked plenty about the Redskins. Allen said he met with free agent defensive tackle Shaun Rogers Friday, and Rogers took a physical.  But the sides had not taken any steps on bringing Rogers to Washington.

Also, Allen said that his team has numerous needs for the upcoming NFL draft.  The team is not looking at any position in particular for the tenth overall selection.  He also did not dismiss the option of returning Donovan McNabb for next season.
