HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - Hanover County has reached a deal to continue running some group homes that been a source of controversy in the past.

The Board of Supervisors voted Wednesday night to established a public-private partnership to operate the county's three homes for people with disabilities.

The approved plan hopes to calm more than a year of concerns among families who were afraid the quality of care would worsen.

The community services board is now in negotiations with good neighbor homes, and hopes to have any changes in place by July 1.
