Chesterfield County offers a free mapping tool, Citizen GIS, at Users can research public property information. The website can also link users to real estate information.

You can search property with an address, point of interest, subdivision name or Tax ID. Information regarding home assessments, owner history, lot size, school zone and political districts are readily available.

You can search property assessment trends by clicking on individual lots.

On average, the web tool is used 100 times a day. People from all 50 states and 61 foreign countries have logged on to use Citizen GIS.

It was launched April 2010 and information is updated once a week.
