The driver of the F-250, Gerald W. Peterson, 30, and his front seat passenger, Thomas L. Nichols, 42, both suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and were flown by state police med-flight to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.  Peterson and Nichols were not wearing their safety belt.
