RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - In this edition of the Restaurant Report, some unwanted visitors were the problem at Number One Great Taste Buffet, 12108 Bermuda Crossroad Lane in Chesterfield, which had 5 critical violations.

The inspector noted there were several live and dead roaches observed throughout the facility even though the operator says they receive monthly pest control services. A follow-up inspection shows there were still some dead roaches. But on the next inspection, all violations were corrected and the restaurant had been thoroughly cleaned. We contacted the restaurant but did not receive comment.

Moving to Henrico, Brazilian Bakery, 1412 Starling Drive, had 4 critical violations. The inspector noted some pastries were not hot enough and some tomatoes on the buffet were not cold enough to make sure they're safe. These same two violations were repeated on a follow-up inspection three weeks later. We reached out to Brazilian bakery but did not hear back.

Now for some good news, AAA just announced local restaurants that received it's 4 diamond rating. The Jefferson Hotel's Lemaire Restaurant received that top honor for excellence in service and quality. Others include Fossett's in Keswick, and the Old Mill Room at the Boar's Head in Charlottesville.

This week's NBC 12 Hall of Fame Award goes to Qdoba Mexican Grill inside Chesterfield Towne Center, 11500 Midlothian Turnpike, for earning perfect scores on the last five of seven inspections.

Said general manager Danielle Handshaw, "Mostly it's a teamwork thing. We keep up with it on a daily basis, we have checklists and keep everyone involved, the crew everybody."
