Search warrant reveals police swabbed key areas of Blands' car

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA (WWBT) - NBC12 has obtained the search warrant for Joseph and Evelyn Bland's 2011 silver Mercury.

The documents revealed swabs of the front passenger side glass, driver side keyhole area, steering wheel, and gearshift were taken.   Police removed the driver and passenger sides floor mats and fingerprints were also uncovered.

The couple was found murdered in their home Friday evening and their car was found three blocks away.   They died from blunt-force injuries to the head.  

A wake is scheduled for tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Ocran Methodist Church off Cox Road in Sutherland.
