USPS suspects youngsters put mail in creek

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - New information in the case of mail dumped in a Chesterfield creek.

No postal employee is responsible. A federal investigation just wrapped up involving hundreds of pieces of mail found in a creek near Bailey Bridge Road and Hull Street last month.

Authorities say it appears neighborhood children committed the federal crime.

Police are following up. So far, none of the victims report identity theft.
