RICHMOND, VA - Richmond Police investigators have arrested and charged Ivan A. "Slap" Smith in connection with a pair of New Year's Day homicides in the city.
Smith, 29, of the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike, was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.
Investigators were called to the 1700 block of Southlawn Avenue just after 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 1 for a report of shots fired. When they arrived they found Alex R. Arrington Jr., 25, shot to death outside and Coraliss A. Logan, 25, shot to death inside a vehicle a block away.
Investigators worked around the clock on this case and credit tips from the community for helping to make the arrest.
