Police seek shooting suspect in South Richmond homicide

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond Police need the public's help to find Deandre Rayseem Yellardy in connection with the Tuesday night shootings in Hillside Court.

Yellardy, 19, is wanted for attempted murder in connection with the incident, which occurred in the 1400 block of Harwood Street just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

His last known address is the 1600 block of Glenfield Avenue. Yellardy, who also goes by "Petey" and "Peedy," is weighs approximately 150 pounds, is 5'8" feet tall and has tattoos on both arms.

The victim of a homicide has been identified following a double shooting in South Richmond leaves one woman dead, another in the hospital.

The two women were shot Tuesday night just after 7 p.m. in the 1800 block of Southlawn Boulevard in the Hillside Court neighborhood.

Officers found Regina N. Doctor, 29, of the 1400 block of Harwood Street, who had been shot to death. The unidentified injured woman is expected to survive.

Police say they don't know if the women were targets, but add they were not shooting at each other. Instead, investigators are looking for at least three men who may be involved.

Investigators are following up on several strong leads thanks to tips from the community, but still ask anyone with any information to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637 first using the word "ITip" followed by your tip. Both methods are anonymous.
