RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond native Russell Wilson is taking Martin Luther King's message to another level. Wilson has two dreams - to play professional baseball and professional football. He is not ready to give up on the latter.
Wilson will attend spring training for the Colorado Rockies - the team that took him in the fourth round last year's draft. But he is still keeping open the possibility of returning to North Carolina State to play his final year of eligibility as the team's quarterback.
The deadline to put his name in to this year's NFL Draft has all ready gone by, and Wilson did not enter.
The Collegiate School product would be a favorite for ACC Preseason Player of the Year if he was to return to Raleigh. He would be one of the few stars the conference has that did not graduate or leave early for the NFL Draft.
