RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Prescription drugs are not cheap. Those who are uninsured or fall into Medicare's donut hole are hit especially hard when drug prices increase. But there are several tools to help bring those prices down. You can sign up online for free prescription drug cards that knock big bucks off your bill.
You can save up to 80% using the MedSaverCard. The only information needed is your name, you just print out your card and instantly start saving on your medicine. You can even use this for your pet's prescriptions. Programs like the MedSaverCard have negotiated lower prices with pharmaceutical companies and then pass that savings onto you.
And there are many plans like this to choose from; there's yourrxcard.com, rxfreecard.com, statedrugcard.com and many, many more. Most of these sites provide a detailed list of the exact dollar amount you can expect to save.
Everyone who wants a discount card can get one. Cards can be used by anyone at any age, no matter what existing conditions are present. These cards are widely accepted at most drug and grocery stores in our area; each site has a list telling you know where to use it.
If you don't have internet access, don't worry, you can still get these cards. There's no requirement that says you have be the one to fill out the information. Because most sites only need your name, have a friend or family member fill it out and print it for you. Show it to your pharmacist and start saving immediately.
