Cause of Old Buckingham apartment fire still undetermined

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Authorities with the Chesterfield County Fire Marshal's Office have determined that a fire at Old Buckingham Station Apartments in Midlothian Dec. 15 started on the outside of the building on a first-floor patio, however, a definitive cause has not been established, they said.

The investigation remains open in the event new information or evidence is discovered. The fire destroyed the 18-unit building and displaced more than 40 people.
