New Year's Day hunting death in Louisa ruled accidental

LOUISA, VA (WWBT) - The death of Mineral man who was killed the afternoon of New Year's Day has been ruled an accident.

Tom Garrrett, Louisa Commonwealth's Attorney, ruled that the hunting fatality involving Timothy Kevin Hall, 49, was an accident.  The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries presented their findings to Garrett's office today and Garrett made his decision based on the physical evidence and a review of the scene.

A spokeswoman for the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries said on January 1 that Hall was shot in the head while hunting in Louisa County. He was hunting with two others and when a deer ran between them.

The two other hunters fired at the deer and Hall was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
