RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - If you're traveling this holiday weekend, you might stay at a hotel. Have you wondered how clean the hotel restaurant is? Two restaurants in local hotels are in this week's restaurant report. Both quickly and thoroughly fixed their violations.

We begin in Richmond, at 301 Franklin and Two Trees Café at the Doubletree Hotel, 301 West Franklin Street. The restaurant had 4 critical violations, including that some pasta salad, potato salad, ham and turkey sandwiches were not being kept cold enough. All violations were corrected immediately while the inspector was still on site. We contacted the restaurant but did not receive comment.

Moving to Henrico, Crossroads Bar and Grill at the Holiday Inn at 2000 Staples Mill Road had 4 critical violations. The report says the rice and beef mix for peppers and the lobster bisque on the steam table were well below the required temperature. But the restaurant earned a perfect score on a follow up inspection a week later. Our calls to the restaurant were not returned.

Next we go into an office building in Richmond, Main Street Corner Café at 600 East Main Street had 4 critical violations. The inspector wrote that some chicken was not reheated to a high enough temperature. The café quickly fixed all the violations right away. But staff tell us the café is closing at the end of the month due to a lack of customers.

This week's NBC12 Hall of Fame Award goes to Touch ov Soul at 14 N. 18th Street in Richmond. This southern and soul spot, run by engaged couple Ty Goins and Santia Davis, has earned perfect scores on three of its last five inspections and hasn't had a critical violation since it opened.

"We love it, we enjoy it, we come everyday without any heartaches or hardships or dreading to come here. Our main goal is to give good quality service, good quality food," sadi Goins.
