RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - An Amelia county farmer will go on trial Tuesday for a dozen charges including animal cruelty.

County leaders say Paul Perdue can't control his cows - they have reportedly run off from the Perdue farm along Route 360 numerous times.

Five of them have been hit by cars and trucks.

The county has paid for them to be rounded up four times.

Right now, Amelia taxpayers are footing the bill for the cattle to be stored.

The county wants Perdue to fix his fence or sell the cows.
