RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The blast of winter busted a few more water lines in Richmond today.
Crews worked all day in the snow to fix at least four breaks including one on Broad Street in Shockoe Bottom.
That makes two dozen water main breaks since December 1. Around this time last year, the city only had half that number of water main breaks.
A public utilities spokesperson said it was mostly likely because of the frigid temperatures.
She also reminds folks that Richmond has the second oldest infrastructure in the country, behind Philadelphia.
