RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - If you live in Richmond, expect a real estate bill in the mailbox this week. The city is moving to semi-annual tax collection and the first wave of bills were sent out today.
Instead of collecting real estate taxes once a year, the city will collect half in January and the other half in June.
If you have an escrow account, you won't notice the change.
For those who owe money, there is help available and payment plan options. Just call the finance department at 804-646-5700.
The tax is due by January 14.
