Chesterfield Board talks runway expansion on Wed.

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The Chesterfield Board of Supervisors is about to give the okay for the county's airport to expand.

The plan, is to extend the runway by 800 feet, allowing bigger planes to land at the airport.

If the runway expands, the safety clearing required by the FAA would be pushed back, meaning the airport would need to get more land.

So the county is offering fair market value for two churches and a handful of homes.

The FAA has final approval.
