ALBEMARLE, VA (WWBT) - Investigators now believe the theft of a kettle from a Virginia Salvation Army bell ringer was an inside job.
Albemarle County police arrested four Charlottesville residents in connection with the theft outside the Sam's Club on November 30th.
Among them -- the bell ringer, Lawrence Egnor, who said he was attacked by a stranger who stole the kettle.
He's charged with embezzlement and filing a false report.
A Salvation Army major said he was "shocked" by the allegation.
