Person shot during attempted robbery in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield Police are searching for an unidentified man who shot and attempted to rob a person in the 3100 block of Tanners Way at about 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 4.

The suspect, armed with a small black handgun, approached the victim while demanding money. A struggle occurred and the victim was shot in the abdomen by the suspect. The suspect then fled on foot. The victim was transported to MCV with life- threatening injuries but currently is listed in stable condition.

The suspect is a black male, 19-22 years old, medium build, 5'5"-5'8", with a goatee, and a small diamond stud earring in his left ear. He was wearing a black skull cap, unzipped black hooded jacket, yellow t-shirt with red lettering on the front, black sweat pants and black boots.
