RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Spiders had to travel 2200 miles to get it, but they have another big win over a BCS team. Justin Harper led Richmond with 23 points and seven rebounds on Sunday afternoon, as the Spiders downed Arizona State in Tempe, 67-61.
Harper hit three 3FG, and Richmond out-shot Arizona State 49%-34.5%, from the floor.
Richmond also dominated the paint, outscoring the Sun Devils 26-8. Four players scored in double-digits in the losing effort for Arizona State.
Kevin Anderson added 14 points and four assists, while Dan Geriot chipped in with 11 points.
The Spiders take on cross town rival VCU next Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, at the Robins Center.
The Spiders are now 7-2 with two victories over BCS programs. The other came over then-10th ranked Purdue.
