HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – A suspicious package emitting a white powder spurred workers at a UPS store to call authorities.
Workers at the Brook Road branch noticed the bread-box sized package around 4:30 Saturday afternoon.
Police say the package was sent from somewhere outside the U.S.
Several nearby businesses were evacuated while emergency crews began to probe the item.
Investigators were unable to immediately identify the substance though say it does not appear to be an explosive, narcotic or a biohazard.
Due to its size and place of origin, police say the package has since been taken to a lab for further analysis.
