King William revels in underdog role

by Matt Lincoln

KING WILLIAM, VA (WWBT) - It's a loss the King William seniors will never forget. As freshmen, the Cavaliers hosted the state semifinal, and lost to Gretna 42-0.  King William has their chance at revenge on Saturday.

The Cavaliers head to Gretna Saturday for this year's state semifinals.  This year is the 10th anniversary of KWHS's last state championship, and they're looking to add another to their mantle.

But first they have to get through one of the best schools in this decade. Gretna has won four state championships in the last seven years.

King William has won this year by scoring a lot of points - seven times this season they've scored over 40 points.

Kickoff in Gretna is at 1pm Saturday.
