Prince George man guilty of murdering two

PRINCE GEORGE, VA (WWBT) - A Prince George County jury convicted Doug Daugherty Wednesday of two counts of first-degree murder and two firearm charges, according to the county clerk's office. 

Douglas Daugherty, 40, was found guilty of shooting and killing two Hopewell men during an argument on James River Drive earlier this spring.

The jury recommended Daugherty serve 64 years.  Formal sentencing is scheduled for March 3.

The recommended sentence breaks down to 28 years for each murder charge, three years for the first firearm charge and five years for the second firearm charge.
