CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA (WWBT) - Do you have a limit set on how much you are going to spend on gifts this holiday season? Even if you do, it's easy to break the bank.

This week you can get some help do avoid that. A lot of us these days are looking to save cash, while still getting everyone something. So often times we go for the smaller gifts, like these board games that cost a little less, but even the less expensive gifts add up and can end up costing you big in the long run!

In an effort to help you not fall into that traditional holiday trap, Chesterfield County is offering a free financial workshop Thursday called Minimizing Holiday Debt. Leaders will tell you how to control your spending, how to set a holiday spending budget and how to basically avoid debt.

Here are some more details on the workshop: it's taking place Thursday from 9:30am until noon at 6807 Mimms Loop in Chesterfield County.  The event is free and open to the public, but leaders are encouraging you to preregister. To do that just click on All Access.
