HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - The mother with injuries that no hospital could ever heal, is now talking about the crash that took her son's life.

Casey Bohr, 23 died Friday night on East Patrick Henry Boulevard in Hanover. Authorities later charged 29-year-old Feliciano Suarez with DUI and manslaughter.

It took Bobbie Bohr a long time to think about doing this. But in talking with us about the crash, she hopes that maybe it will help people remember the son, who was taken from her so quickly.

It was the first time Bobbie Bohr ever saw a memorial poster for her son, Casey. And the first time, she ever talked about that awful night.

"The next thing I know is, just rolling around and being slammed all over the place," she said.

It was Friday night. Bobbie was a passenger, and Casey was driving.

Authorities say another car driven by Feliciano Suarez veered into the wrong lane and hit them, sending Bobbie and Casey spinning violently into the ground. Casey was not buckled in.

"And my baby was thrown out of the car. He wasn't in there with me," Bobbie said.

Amid the shattered glass and various debris, Bobbie suffered a broken collarbone and rib. But she remembers feeling not a single second of physical pain.

"I didn't feel anything but my heart breaking. That's all I felt," she said.

Casey was 23 years old. A big man, with a big passion for softball, and for living by the rules.

"One thing he always hated was anybody drinking and driving," said Casey's father, John.

Now, Casey's loved ones wonder why the rules weren't followed for him.

"My heart was completed ripped out of my chest. And a piece of my soul has died," said Casey's brother, Brandon.

Authorities say Suarez was drunk and later admitted to being in the country illegally. For this tight-knit, Christian family, there is now a difficult question of faith.

"We're supposed to love everybody, we're supposed to forgive, but I don't know. I don't know if I can do  that," Bobbie Bohr said.

Casey will be buried near the family home in King William County.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Bennett's Funeral Home in Mechanicsville. The funeral for Casey Bohr will take place Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Road in Henrico County.

Condolences may be sent to Fort Lee Baptist Church.

Feliciano Suarez faces four local charges including involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence. He'll make his first court appearance Tuesday morning.

Even if the local court sets him free on bond, a federal "detainer" will keep Suarez locked up for now.
