RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Several Richmond homes once owned by convicted slumlord Oliver Lawrence will hit the auction block this month.

Lawrence was convicted of 180 property violations by the city. He served 15 days in jail and was forced to live for 40 days in one of his rundown homes.

Twenty one of his properties in Highland Park, Church Hill and Jackson Ward will be sold in a foreclosure auction on December 14 at 11 a.m. at the Richmond Marriott hotel's Capital Salon.

Most of the homes are uninhabitable and the lender does not plan to bid on any of the properties.

In the past, the Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods has helped banks sell those foreclosed homes in historic neighborhoods.
