COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA (WWBT) - James Bush is telling his patients to get prescreened - a PSA test.
It is a blood test that measures the level of a specific protein made in the prostate gland, a gland present only in men. The test screens for cancer.
All men are at risk of prostate cancer during their lifetime. The risk goes up for people over the age of 65 or people with a family history.
The screening for men should happen on an annual basis after the age of 50.
