RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - We expect Henrico County leaders to approve some big changes for one school.
Brookland Middle School is a little more than 50 years old. The work will bring the school into the 21st century.
Leaders are likely to approve the renovations laid out Tuesday night.
The Times-Dispatch reports the entire project is estimated to cost nearly $27 million.
The money will go toward renovating the existing building and new additions, including a library, and re-doing parking lots, entrances, sidewalks and more.
Reports say the money being used for this work is coming from County projects that have come in under budget as well as other funds.
The county planner expects the work to start in the spring and be done by the fall of 2012.
During that time, classroom trailers and a bathroom trailer will be used.
