Road to Revolution State Heritage Trail hosting holiday events

Patrick Henry is alive and well this Holiday season! Several historic sites along the Road to Revolution State Heritage Trail will welcome guests to celebrate the season this Christmastime. For the third annual Holidays in Historic Hanover, the Trail and its members have produced a line-up of special events accessible to all ages for the first weekend of December. All activities are free unless otherwise stated.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3RD - ILLUMINATION
6:00pm - Historic Polegreen Church Site [6411 Heatherwood Drive, Mechanicsville 23116] Period live music, carols, lighting of community tree and refreshments in new visitor center

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4TH – OPEN HOUSE
9:00am – Historic St. John's Church [2401 E Broad St, Richmond]
Guided tours and Egg Nog, $5 admission

10:00am – 4:00pm – SHOPPERS FAIR
Hanover Tavern [13181 Hanover Courthouse Road, Hanover 23069]
Colonial Santa and Mrs. Claus, craft and vendor fair, magic show and holiday music

12 noon – 4 pm - Hanover Courthouse [Across from Tavern] – PARSON'S CAUSE REENACTMENT & TOURS
Tours of the Courthouse led by Hanover Historical Society

6:00-9:00pm at Scotchtown [16120 Chiswell Lane, Beaverdam] – OPEN HOUSE

The Road to Revolution Consortium is a cooperative alliance of historical associations, non-profit foundations, and other organizations that own and operate historic sites associated with the life and times of Patrick Henry, orator of the American Revolution and first governor of the independent Commonwealth of Virginia. The Consortium is responsible for establishing and promoting The Road to Revolution as an educational and heritage tourism trail linking historic sites that highlight and commemorate the American Revolution and Patrick Henry's leading role in liberating Virginia from Colonial rule, creating an independent nation, and shaping American ideals and institutions.
