SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA (WWBT) - A Spotsylvania teen is fighting to stay alive after being left in a ditch to die. The teen's family is now reaching out to the public for help.

Seventeen-year-old Kevin Sullivan has a long list of serious injuries. He was found in a ditch on Salem Church Road Friday night.

According to the Fredericksburg Freelance Star, police don't know yet what happened to him. He might have been hit by or pushed from a car.

Right now, Kevin is in a coma at Mary Washington Hospital. He has severe head trauma, broken ribs, a collapsed lung and other internal injuries.

Kevin's family is now reaching out to the public for answers. They are hoping someone saw Kevin between 9:30 and 10:45pm on Friday night or was driving on Salem Church Road and remembers even a small detail that could help police figure out what happened.

Kevin was spotted in the ditch by the passenger in a pick-up truck at 10:45pm. His father believes he may have been walking home from a friend's house near Spotsylvania Towne Centre.

You may remember a similar story we've been covering. It's been nearly two months since the mysterious death of Goochland teen Billy Lee Maxwell. Maxwell was hit and found dead on Broad Street. Investigators are still searching for answers in that case too.
