CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) – A crime alert out of Chesterfield where a string of home break-ins has neighbors demanding answers.

The crimes happened at the Colonial Ridge Apartments right off Jeff Davis Highway. Police and the victims believe there are witnesses to the crimes because large screen TV's were stolen out of the homes during the day.  One victim, Erica McNeil is outraged.

"I feel extremely violated," said McNeil.

She came home from work on Tuesday to find her apartment door open. Her locks were broken and some of her belongings were gone.

"I walked in here and my TV was just missing. The stand was right here. It's a 65 inch TV and it's just gone," said McNeil.

The crime happened in broad daylight. McNeil says similar crimes have happened to her neighbors this month.

"This is like the 5th or 6th incident within a couple of weeks," said McNeil.

Just down stairs from McNeil someone broke into Ebony Conner's home.

"It's just a whole lot. Too much for me," said Connor.

Her TV and other items were stolen.

"They just walked right in and took it," said Connor.

And just down the road at the same apartment complex -- Carnisha Taylor's 50 inch TV was taken on Halloween while she was out running errands.

"I was pissed but hurt as well because I was like nobody saw anything -- nobody talks," said Taylor.

The crook or crooks pried open Taylor's front door.

"They took jewelry, video games, games to the video games, WII, X-box, stuff like that," said Taylor.

The victims are encouraging anyone who knows anything to contact police.

"I want my stuff back. I want my stuff back," said McNeil.
