RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Governor Bob McDonnell has hired a consulting group to look for ways for the state to get out of  the liquor business.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that McDonnell hired financial management firm The PFM Group for $76,000.

The group will look into ways to privatize state's liquor monopoly. It will also look at the option of turning the retail operation to the private sector, while the state stays in control of the wholesale operation.
