Agreement reached for Hanover chimps

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - We now know the fate of several chimpanzees in Hanover.

Curtis Shepperson will be allowed to keep two chimps at Windy Oaks animal farm in Mechanicsville.

Shepperson did not have the proper permits needed to keep a total of six chimps.

We first reported this story in August when two of the animals escaped.

Shepperson will work with the county and now has up to two years to find homes for the four other chimps.
