Police look for man wanted for cashing counterfeit checks in Hanover

HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - The Hanover Sheriff's Office needs assistance locating a Laron Deonte Harrison. 

Harrison is wanted in Hanover County for cashing a counterfeit check. The account information on the check represented a business in New Jersey. 

Similar counterfeit checks have been passed in the City of Richmond and Maryland. Monetary loss associated with these checks is near $5,000. 

Harrison is known to frequent the east end of Henrico and Richmond. 

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Laron Harrison is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or the Hanover County Sheriff's Office at 365-6140.

    Police are in the beginning stages of a homicide investigation, after a man is found shot to death in Petersburg Sunday morning. Officers say they were called to the 2700 block of South Crater Road, around 2 a.m. When they got to the scene, police say they found a man, who had been shot multiple times.
