PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) - Street paving will begin in the downtown area of Petersburg on Sunday night, November 7th and continue through Thursday morning, November 11th. The milling and paving process will begin on North Sycamore Street (at the Washington Street intersection) and continue onto Bank Street. During work on each street the following sections will be closed – North Sycamore Street between Washington Street and Old Street, and Bank Street between North Market Street and North Crater Road.
Resurfacing work will be conducted during the night so businesses can operate during the day. The planned hours of work are as follows:
1. Sunday, November 7th - 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
2. Monday, November 8th - 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
3. Tuesday, November 9th - 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
4. Wednesday, November 10th - 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
After the paving project is completed, Bank Street will be converted to a two-way street from North Sycamore Street to North Crater Road.
