RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Friday marks the one year anniversary of the deadly shootings at Fort Hood in Texas.

A six foot stone memorial with the names of the 13 people killed will be unveiled Tuesday during a remembrance ceremony.

Major Nadal Hasan is facing charges for the shootings.

He was shot during the rampage and is now paralyzed from the chest down.

The shooting holds the somber record of the worst mass shooting on a U.S. military base.

Hasan grew up in northern Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech.

He is expected to go on trial later this month.
