Make or break for Spiders vs. JMU

by Matt Lincoln

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - There is no such thing as home field advantage in the rivalry between Richmond and James Madison.  The road team has gotten on the bus with a victory the last six years.

That's not good news for a Spiders team in desperate need for a victory.  The 20th ranked Spiders will host the 22nd ranked Dukes in an incredibly important game for both clubs.  They're both 4-4, and a loss more than likely eliminates them from postseason consideration.

JMU has hit some hard times since conference play began. The Dukes just barely lost their opener to Delaware 13-10, then held on at Towson for their only CAA victory, 17-13.  They've lost three straight, including last weekend at home against UMass.

There are questions abound once again at the quarterback position for the Spiders.  Montel White was injured in last week's 28-7 loss at Villanova, making him the fourth QB to go down at some point this season.  He is questionable this week.  But so is 2nd stringer John Laub who is waiting for doctors to clear him after an injury to his left wrist.  Head Coach Latrell Scott says Laub has looked good in practice and could be ready to play.
