French makes court appearance; allowed to travel during holidays

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A prominent Richmond developer in serious financial and legal trouble will be allowed to leave the state for the holidays.

Justin French appeared in general district court Tuesday morning in Richmond on charges he forged public documents and wrote a bad check.

A hearing on the charges was moved to January 25.

French is out on bond after being arrested at Richmond International Airport trying to leave the state.

The IRS and FBI raided his office in Shockoe Slip in August and eight charges were filed against him the next week.
