Henrico's Mosley picks big game to step up

by Matt Lincoln

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Corey Mosley was one of the best players in Virginia coming out of Henrico High School.  Now he's one of the best players at the University of Virginia.

Mosley was named co-ACC Defensive Back of the week, along with his teammate Chase Minnifield for their efforts in the 24-19 victory over 22nd ranked Miami.  Both players had two interceptions of three Miami quarterbacks.  As a whole, the Hoos had five interceptions, doubling their season total in just one game.

They were Mosley's first interceptions of the season, and his first multi-interception game of his career.

"We came in with a chip on our shoulder," said Mosley after the victory. "We knew we had to prove something, and that's what you saw."

Mosley redshirted his first year in Charlottesville, and played on and off his freshman year.  Last season he joined the rotation in the defensive backfield.  Mosley was one of the top 20 recruits in the state of Virginia coming out of Henrico High School.
