Impetigo is a contagious skin infection that usually causes sores on the face around the nose and mouth.
It is more common in small children and toddlers, but can also infect adults.
Treatment is usually with topical antibiotics prescribed by your healthcare provider. Care should be taken to avoid others contacting the sores as they are contagious.
