Nissan recalls 2.4 million cars for faulty ignition relay

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Nissan announced Thursday its third largest recall ever: about 2.4 million vehicles, mostly in the U.S. and Japan.

The recall effects the March-Micra, Cube and about a dozen other models made between August 2003 and July 2006.

All have been recalled to fix a faulty ignition relay that could cause engine problems.

A Nissan spokesman said no accidents were reported from the defect and the recall was a precautionary measure.
