Press release from Richmond Police Department
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - No charges will be filed regarding a pedestrian and vehicle accident on Hull Street this morning.
Richmond Police officers were called to the 5500 block of Hull Street just before 8 a.m. today for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
The Department's Crash Team investigators determined the victim, a 62-year-old man, had difficulty seeing and thought it was safe to cross the road. That's when he was struck in the eastbound lanes of Hull Street by a 1992 Buick Riviera driven by a 48-year-old man from Richmond.
The victim is now in critical condition at the hospital, but is expected to survive. No charges will be filed against the driver.
The roads were closed for investigation for approximately an hour and half, and were reopened at 9:30 a.m.
