ASHLAND, VA (WWBT) - Ashland's police chief shared more information with the town council on a proposal to limit hotel stays.

Tuesday night, Chief Doug Goodman highlighted what several other cities are doing to combat crime by limiting hotel and motel stays.

Council did not vote on the plan. It was delayed so more research can be done.

The proposal is expected to be discussed again at a November meeting.
