Morgan Harrington to be honored in Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WWBT) - Sunday marks the one year anniversary of Morgan Harrington's disappearance.

She was last seen leaving a Metallica concert in Charlottesville.

The Virginia Tech student's remains were later found on a farm in Albemarle County, in January.

Detectives say DNA evidence leads them to believe the suspect is the same person behind an assault in Fairfax five years ago.

Sunday, UVA will unveil a plaque in Morgan's honor on the bridge where she was last seen alive.

That dedication ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m.

Harrington's parents are expected to attend.

We'll have a crew in the area for the ceremony and will bring you full coverage tonight at 11:00 p.m.
