House fire in Woodlake subdivision in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The Chesterfield fire department battled a fire in a home in the Woodlake subdivision in southern Chesterfield County that started around 9:30 a.m. Friday morning.

The fire is under control, but still burning.  Fire crews expect to be on scene for the next couple of hours.

Two elderly people were inside at the time, according to officials.  They made it out alive, but there's no word on their condition right now.

The fire marshal is headed to the scene and could have a preliminary cause later Friday.
