Pizza deliveryman assaulted, robbed in Chesterfield

Press release from Chesterfield County Police Department

CHESTERFIELD, VA – Police are investigating an assault and robbery that occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday in the 20800 block of Truth Drive.

Police say a pizza delivery driver attempted to make a delivery to a residence when he was hit from behind and then dragged into the residence.  Once inside, he was assaulted again by at least three suspects, who took his money and stole his 2005 Chrysler mini-van.

A patrol officer in the area spotted the mini-van and attempted to pull it over.  The vehicle fled from the officer, eventually stopping on Lee St. in the Village of Ettrick.  At that time suspects jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot.  A search of the area ended with the apprehension of a female juvenile suspect.  There are believed to be two male suspects still at large.

The delivery driver was transported to VCU Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  The house on Truth Drive where the assault and robbery occurred is a vacant residence.
