RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Richmond man who tried to set his neighbor on fire after she didn't want to date him will spend three years in prison.
Charles Wallace, 64, pleaded guilty to attempted malicious wounding by use of explosive.
Wallace waited outside the victim's south Richmond home for two hours. While she was leaving for church, he poured a beer can filled with gasoline on her head and trying to light her on fire.
Neighbors intervened and helped pull Wallace off the woman.
He agreed to spend three years in prison and have no more contact with the victim.
