RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Some south Richmond parents are furious after learning their kindergarten student walked back home without the school's knowledge.
David Boulden tells the Times-Dispatch his 5-year-old son came home Tuesday morning from Reid Elementary School, after being treated by a school nurse for a splinter.
The boy lives less than a quarter of a mile from the school.
But the Boulden's want to know how their son could just walk off school grounds without an escort.
They fear he could have been abducted or hit by a car.
A spokeswoman for Richmond Public Schools tells the paper they consider the situation "alarming," and apologized.
