RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Embattled Richmond developer Justin French may lose his high-dollar, West End home.

French has defaulted on a $1.5 million loan on his Georgian mansion. The home was once owned by famed historian and journalist Douglas Southall Freeman.

French was arrested in August on several charges related to his real estate dealings.

The house, which is valued at more than $2 million,  will be auctioned on the steps of the John Marshall Courthouse 10:30 a.m. October 13.
